sorry not quite yet (since I own the server I was just able to upload them and make image links).
However, PHPBB3 (the new version of this forum) is coming out in a few days. You can expect that we will be porting to it within the next week. PHPBB3 has the built-in ability to permit file uploads.
I've held off on modifying our current forum with an upload mod because I knew this was coming.
Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
oh..thats on sexy computer. but i cant help but think those gold plated blocks would add a chunk of change onto the case price being a built in liquid cooling, but it sure is nice they added them cuz im sure the gold is a much better heat transfer material. ^^ i like it, nice work.

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
the case actually just came with the pump, radiator and reservoir unit. The blocks were purchased separately.
Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
How much did this add up to all together if I may ask?
And one nice machine you have got there!

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
well I already had some of the parts, including the DVD drives, one of the three HDDs, the powersupply, the floppy drive, and that card reader.
However, if you factor all of those in as well, the total thing comes out to around 2400 US dollars.

I actually just ran through the price list last night and put it up on the downloads page if you wanna take a look (UC4). Turns out it's actually closer to about 2900. But like I said, i had about 900 dollars worth of parts already.

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
Just ordered a bunch of new parts for my computer's cooling System which I will use to add water cooling to the RAM. I also got some intense new bright green coolant which will supposedly cool better and looks freaking intense. In the process of this, I'm also going to reseat my CPU cooler with the thermal paste applied more evenly than the way I did it the first time. I'll post pics of the process .

Can you make a video?

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
I've got all my new parts, and next week I am doing the following:
1. Reseat the CPU and cooler, because one of the original standoffs that I used was a little weird (I got a new standoff from koolance).
2. Applying the thermal paste a different way. The first time I did it, I followed the instructions on the arctic silver website that tell you to just put one line and not spread it around...I tried it on another computer spreading it around, and it works much better-thanks AS .
3. Replacing the drain valve with a higher quality one
4. Adding my RAM to the water cooling loop
5. Changing to higher performance green UV coolant.

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
Just a thought, but after you apply the dab of paste, did you twist the cooler a few degrees each way? It helps get it more even and settled.

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
yes I did, but I still don't think it covered it very well. The messed up standoff probably isn't helping either...

you should post a comparison when you get it all fixed up: spread vs no spread.

I heard you are supposed to but a pee shape of arctic silver on the processor and it squashes it

Yea, that's what alot of people are suggesting, that's why I was so surprised when sciguy said it didn't work.
Sciguy: Maybe you used too much/little.

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
Which basically told me to make a line of it across the CPU...I don't think its the thermal paste as much as it is the CPU standoff that is crooked. My guess is that uneven pressure is being applied.
However, since that build I've used AS5 and spread it out instead of putting a dab of it and it has worked better...So who knows...I guess we shall see.

Our way is the best way

Re: Pics of my finished computer (almost identical to UC4)
I finally got that replacement stand-off from koolance. So I'm gonna be doing that restructuring on my rig soon. Since I'll be taking apart the computer in the process, I will use the opportunity to take pics for our tutorials.
