Windows Movie Maker wont save movie file!
So I made a 16 minute video on war, and i can save the project fine, but when i go to save the movie file (or export), i get prompted with:
"Windows Movie Maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again."
and another pop-up saying:
"Your computer is low on memory" -which I dont think is the problem, I have 4 GB of RAM.
The movie is 141.72 MB and I have 684.49 GB of space left.
I can't seem to find a good codec pack, cause that might be the problem.

Re: Windows Movie Maker wont save movie file!
Are you trying to save it to it to the right location/hd? Did you save the original project file? Did you move the files after you added them to your project file? Because you have to keep them in the same location once you add them to the project. Adding them to the project does not put them in a separate location it just declares a pointer that points to the original location to use the file when it compiles the video.
Try to close & open the project again (I hope it's saved). Then look for all the mini movie files / pictures / sounds you added to the project and make sure they are in the right location. Usually I make a new folder & put all my "resources" in that main files before I export the video.
Also... what movie maker do you have? & what operating system are you on? Thanks & good luck.
If this isn't working maybe you can try to uninstall & re-install movie maker. That should fix all of your codex problems, even though that's not the error you are getting.

Re: Windows Movie Maker wont save movie file!
It seems to only save if I save it as "DV-AVI NTSC".
But when I play it back, the audio skips badly.
and i have Windows 7, Windows Movie Maker 2.6

Re: Windows Movie Maker wont save movie file!
I don't know a lot about video editing software tech issues, but I DO know a lot about Windows Movie Maker... primarily that it's a piece of garbage. I've never used a copy of that program that I liked. Might wanna consider plopping down some cash and upgrading to some better software... WMM is just a headache waiting to happen .

Re: Windows Movie Maker wont save movie file!
.... resurrected. Cyberlink Power Director! here's some reviews.... http://video-editing-software-review.toptenreviews.com/I've used Adobe Premier elements & seen Sony vegas 9 used. Adobe is really complicated, but powerful & annoying if you're just trying to add subtitles (idk why they don't have a subtitle option). Sony Vegas takes some time to get used to. Never tried cyberlink, but I've heard good things.

Re: Windows Movie Maker wont save movie file!
I have Power Director and imo it is pretty useful.
